This explains what we do with your personal information, in plain English. The short version: we collect as little as possible, we don't track you around the internet, and we never sell anything to anybody.

FaeCraft Workshops is a trading name of SmoothDay PA Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17159322. We run craft workshops at The Atelier in North Anston, Sheffield.

We are the "data controller" for the information described below, which means we are responsible for looking after it.
We receive whatever you send — usually your name, your email address, and your question. We use it to answer you, and to keep track of the conversation if it turns into a booking. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you have asked us something and we would like to reply.
We use assistant software to help manage the inbox and draft replies. A person reads and approves every reply before it is sent — nothing is sent to you automatically without a human looking at it first.
The booking form on our pages is our own. When you use it, your name, email address, telephone number if you give one, and the dates you have chosen are sent to our own server and stored there. We use them to hold your place, to let you know when your piece is out of the kiln, and to deal with anything that comes up. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract.
To pay your deposit you are then taken to Square, our payment provider, on Square's own website. Your card details are given to them, not to us — we never see or hold your card number. Square handle that payment under their own privacy policy.
We also add your name and contact details to our own list of people who have booked with us, so we can tell you about future dates. You can ask us to remove you at any time and we will.
Our web server keeps a standard access log of requests it receives. That includes your IP address, the time, which page you asked for, and which browser you used. It is how we keep the site working, spot problems, and see roughly how many people visited. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests in running a secure and functional website.
These logs are deleted automatically after a few weeks. We do not use them to try to identify you.
This website carries one advertising pixel, and only if you agree to it. It is the Meta (Facebook) pixel, and we use it to see which of our adverts actually bring people to the site and lead to a booking. Nothing is loaded and no cookie is set unless you choose “That is fine” on the banner when you first arrive. If you choose “No thanks”, the pixel is never loaded and the site works exactly the same.
Your answer is remembered in your own browser. To change it, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the question will be asked again.
We carry no other analytics and no other third-party trackers. We set no cookies of our own.
When you pay a deposit you are taken to Square, our payment provider, on their own website. They may set their own cookies there, under their privacy policy.
If you arrived here from an advert or a post on Facebook or Instagram, those platforms may add tracking information to the web address and will know you clicked. That happens on their side, before you reach us, and is governed by their own privacy policies.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of service providers to run the business:

We would also share information if the law required us to.
We sometimes take photographs of finished pieces, and occasionally of a session, to show what people make. We will always ask you first before using a photograph that shows you or your child, and you are free to say no — it makes no difference to your booking. If you have already said yes and change your mind, tell us and we'll take it down.
Some of our workshops are for families, and children attend with a parent or guardian. Where a child takes part, we deal with the booking adult and hold only what we need to run the session safely.

We do not make any decisions about you purely by automated means.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
